2008 National Convention
Join Nearly 12,000 Girl Scouts from Across the Nation
at the
2008 Girl Scout National Council Session/51st Convention.
The 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session/51st Convention will take place October 30-November 2, 2008 in Indianapolis, IN.
The convention will bring together nearly 12,000 Girl Scouts from across the nation for ceremonies, workshops, special guest
speakers and vendor booths focused on retaining Juliette Gordon Low’s vision of Girl Scouts. Adult Girl Scouts and girls age 14-17
may attend the convention as a member of the GSEIWI Visitor Delegation and will be able to attend all sessions and activities.
Visitors will be responsible for the cost of registration, transportation, lodging and meals. GSUSA is currently finalizing details but
an estimate of the cost for visitors is $460 per adult registered by July 8 and $490 per adult registered July 9-July 31. These
approximate fees include registration (early registration $245, registration $275), hotel for three nights ($130 – four people to a
room) and transportation ($85). The cost of meals is additional. GSEIWI will arrange transportation from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and
Galesburg and Rock Island, Illinois. (Minimum/maximum number of riders may apply.)
To register, complete the GSEIWI Visitor Delegation form and mail to ATTN: Visitor Delegation, GSEIWI, 680 2nd St. SE, Ste. 100, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
Early registrations must be received by July 8; all registrations must be received by July 31. A deposit of the registration fee (listed
above) is due with registration. Final payment for transportation and lodging will be due on October 15.
