Burlington Area Program Manager
Howdy! I'm Hailey Workman, the Program Manager for the Burlington area and a lifetime Girl Scout. I graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, IA in May 2008 with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. Four months later I was offered my dream job- a position with the Girl Scouts! My passions are traveling, art, dance and empowering girls to become strong, independent women.
I provide Girl Scout program to ten counties: Des Moines, Henderson (IL), Henry (IA), Jefferson, Knox (IL), Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Van Buren and Warren (IL) counties.
In addition to serving ten counties, my special focus is Day Camp, religious awards, Girl Scout destinations, Girl Scout Trips and the Cookie Sale Program: Rally Kits, Cookie Challenge event and 500 clubs. On a normal day, you will find me at the Burlington Area Service Center.
Events by Request
Hailey Workman is available to help you learn how to plan events in your area! She even has a limited amount of dates that she can come to your event to help you run it! Get together with other volunteers in your town or service unit and get started. Read all about how Hailey can help you: Request a Burlington Area Event.
Program Aides
Attention girls grades 6-12! Like working with younger girls? Take a Program Aide (PA) Training.
The Girl Scout Program Aide (PA) is one of the leadership opportunities for Girl Scouts entering grade 6. This program is designed to enable girls to develop leadership skills by sharing their specialized knowledge with younger girls in a variety of settings. After completing PA training, girls receive the PA pin. Girls are then encouraged to log 25 hours of service to enhance their leadership skills, thereby earning the PA patch. Day and summer camp sessions are an excellent way to gain experience, as well as programs in specific areas of interest for the PA. The PA pin and patch can be earned during the Cadette, Senior and Ambassador program. Girls need to have this training in order to help out at council events. For more information contact HaileyW@GSEIWI.org.
