Cedar Rapids Area Program Manager

Hi, my name is Jennifer Fisher, program manager for GSEIWI's Cedar Rapids Area. I graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in May 2007 with a bachelors degree in music education. I previously taught band in Custer, SD, which is located in the heart of the Black Hills of South Dakota. I love all things musical, especially playing saxophone and piano, as well as hiking, camping, running, riding bike and doing adventurous things outdoors, such as rock rappelling, knee boarding and cliff jumping.

I provide program to five Iowa counties: Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Linn and Washington counties.

In addition to serving five counties, my special focus is the Go Red patch program, Zink the Zebra program, Pen Pals and University of Iowa callaborations. On a normal day, you will find me in the Cedar Rapids Area Girl Scout Service Center.

Events by Request

I am available to help you learn how to plan programs in your area! I even have a limited amount of dates that I can come to your event to help you run it! Get together with other volunteers in your town or service unit and get started. Read all about how I can help you: Request a Cedar Rapids Area Event.

Program Aides

Attention girls grades 6-12! Like working with younger girls? Take a Program Aide (PA) Training.

The Girl Scout Program Aide (PA) is one of the leadership opportunities for Girl Scouts entering grade 6. This program is designed to enable girls to develop leadership skills by sharing their specialized knowledge with younger girls in a variety of settings. After completing PA training, girls receive the PA pin. Girls are then encouraged to log 25 hours of service to enhance their leadership skills, thereby earning the PA patch. Day and summer camp sessions are an excellent way to gain experience, as well as programs in specific areas of interest for the PA. The PA pin and patch can be earned during the Cadette, Senior and Ambassador program. Girls need to have this training in order to help out at council events. For more information contact JenniferF@GSEIWI.org.

Cedar Rapids Area Regional Membership Managers

Regional Membership Managers (RMM’s) work to ensure all girls have the opportunity to join Girl Scouts by establishing relationships with schools, parents and local volunteers. Simply click on the links below to email your RMM.

Hello! I'm Laura Hahlen, Regional Membership Manager for southern Linn and northern Johnson counties in the Cedar Rapids area. I started working for GSEIWI in September 2008. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Northern Iowa. Before that I was a stay-at-home mom for my 3 kids for 9 years. I was a Girl Scout growing up and have been a Girl Scout leader for almost 4 years. Girl Scouting is in my blood! If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers or know of a girl that wants to join Girl Scouts, please contact me.

Crystal Sherman

Hello, I am Crystal Sherman, Regional Membership Manager for northern Linn, Iowa and Washington counties.  I received my Associates of Arts Degree in Human Services from Kirkwood Community College and my Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Work from Austin Peay State University. Due to my husband’s Army career, we spent the last seven years in Tennessee. After surviving three deployments, we are both glad to be back in Iowa near our family and friends. We have two daughters, both of which are Girl Scouts. I started working for GSEIWI in June 2009.  I wasn’t a Girl Scout when I was a child, so maybe that is why my daughters are in it now.  They love it and I love it. You will love it too! You can contact me at the Cedar Rapids Area Service Center.
