Waterloo Area Program Manager

Jamie Harrington

Hi everyone thanks for coming to check out GSEIWI’s website!  I am Jamie Harrington, GSEIWI's Program Manager for the Waterloo Area.  I am a very friendly, outgoing person, who enjoys meeting new people and am always up for trying new things!  I live in Cedar Falls, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Leisure, Youth and Human Services with an emphasis area in Programming Service Administration in LYHS and also a second emphasis in Youth Services.

I provide Girl Scout program to ten counties: Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Grundy, Howard and Tama counties.

In addition to serving ten counties, my special focus is the Girl Scout Juliette program, Program Aides, Day at the Capitol event and supporting the Girls Go Global event. On a normal day, you can contact me at the Waterloo Area Girl Scout Service Center.

Events by Request

I am available to help you learn how to plan programs in your area! I even have a limited amount of dates that I can come to your event to help you run it! Get together with other volunteers in your town or service unit and get started. Read all about how I can help you: Request a Waterloo Area Event.

Juliette Coordinator

I also have the privilege of being the Juliette Coordinator for the council. I am here to help implement the Juliette Program and make it a successful pathway for all girls who are interested in choosing this option.  Being a Girl Scout Juliette is an option for all girls who want to participate in Girl Scouts but are maybe too busy to find the time to participate in a troop because they are in other extracurricular activities or temporarily you are a Juliette because there is a not a troop for you in your area with your grade level.   As a Juliette you are able to do badge work from home, participate in council wide events or Service Unit events.  We will be working hard in this upcoming year to better serve our Juliettes better than ever.

Starting in the fall, if you register as a Juliette you can receive quarterly Juliette Program Packets that will be filled with wonderful ideas of what you can do for badge work, council events, ideas for field trips and a whole lot more of fun and game. To receive the quarterly Program Packet send $5 or 1 Cookie Program Credit to Jamie at the Waterloo Area Service Center, she will then put you on a the list to receive a Program packet four times a year. Our goal is to send out four packets each year of your designated grade level to each Juliette.  If you are interested in this pathway please contact me at the Waterloo Area Girl Scout Service Center and I can give you anymore information that you need.  If you are a Juliette and would like to express any feedback or would like to be on my email list to send out updates please contact me at the above contact information.
