Girls

Girl Scouts is open to all girls ages 5-17. In Girl Scouts, girls learn the three keys to leadership development: Discover, Connect, and Take Action. Girl Scouts of all ages explore their skills, values and their world; relate to others in a multicultural world; and engage in making a difference in the world.

Girls can join Girl Scouts at different grade levels:

  • Girl Scout Daisies (Grades K-1)
  • Girl Scout Brownies (Grades 2-3)
  • Girl Scout Juniors (Grades 4-5)
  • Girl Scout Cadettes (Grades 6-8)
  • Girl Scout Seniors (Grades 9-10)
  • Girl Scout Ambassadors (Grades 11-12)
  • Girl Scout Juliettes (Grades 1-12; non-troop affiliated)

Age-appropriate activities-designed by girls to meet their changing needs and interests-are offered through a partnership between girls and adults. Girls learn by doing and reflecting on what they have accomplished. Cooperation, teamwork, and compromise are taught through all-girl teams working toward shared goals.

Girls can participate in Girl Scouting through troop meetings, activity centers, or as individuals, called Juliette Girl Scouts. In addition, all registered Girl Scouts can participate in Girl Scout events, attend summer resident camp, and participate in product sales, including the Cookie Sale Program.

For more fun activities, and to connect to other Girl Scouts around the country, girls can check out the following Girl Scout web sites:
