1. The candidate is an active adult member registered with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
2. The candidate has completed appropriate Adult Learning courses for her/his current position.
3. The candidate has no product sales debt.
5. The candidate meets the following criteria:

Outstanding Volunteer-
• Complete appropriate training or demonstrate ability/skills for the position.
• Perform at a level that exceeds the expectations of the position as outlined in the position description agreement in one or more of the following areas:
   -- Membership, program, fund development, pluralism, marketing and communications, strategic leadership/governance, human resources.
• Actively recognize, understand, and practice the values of inclusive behavior.
Outstanding Leader-
Demonstrated competence in at least two of the following:
• Involving adults in the community to help broaden the program opportunities for girls.
• Increasing girl membership to support the council membership goal.
• Using the four program goals to select a wide range of program activities with girls.
• Helping girls to recognize, understand, and practice the values of inclusive behavior.
• Building an effective "By Girls, For Girls" approach with girls.

       Give examples of the results of the candidate's work. Utilize the following
       questions to create results-oriented nominations.

       1. Why are you nominating this person?
       2. What have they done in the position that demonstrates they are deserving
       of this award?
       3. How has the candidate's service benefited the service unit or girls?
       4. Who has benefited from the candidate's contribution that makes them stand
       out from other volunteers?
       5. How has the candidate's service been outstanding, above and beyond the position?
       (Ask for a Volunteer Position description if necessary.)
       ** 6. Describe the candidate's ability and effectiveness in communicating with girls
       and/or adults.
